Immigration decisions can affect a person's family life, employment, education and future. We therefore approach every instruction with care, professional responsibility and respect. Our role is to explain the available options, identify the evidence required and help each client make informed decisions about the next steps in their matter.

The practice was established to provide a professional and client-focused service built on integrity, accuracy and transparent communication. We recognise that immigration procedures can feel complex, particularly when legal rules, strict deadlines and extensive supporting documents are involved. We aim to make that process easier to understand without making promises about outcomes that are ultimately decided by the Home Office, a tribunal or another authority.

Every matter is considered on its own facts. The services we accept are limited to work that falls within our current regulatory authorisation and professional competence. Where a matter falls outside that scope, we will explain this promptly and, where appropriate, signpost the person to a suitably authorised professional.

Dickson Tarnongo is a legal practitioner, immigration adviser, researcher and development professional with experience across the United Kingdom and Nigeria. He is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. He is also a Chevening Scholar and holds postgraduate qualifications in law and business. His professional interests include immigration law, disability rights, access to justice, equality, public policy, international development and legal reform. We begin by identifying the client's objectives and considering whether the matter falls within our authorisation and competence. If we are able to accept the instruction, the client-care letter will explain the agreed work, professional fee, exclusions, responsibilities and complaints procedure.

During the matter, we aim to provide clear information about the evidence required and any important deadlines. We also explain relevant risks and limitations. Careful preparation can reduce avoidable errors, but it cannot guarantee that an application or appeal will succeed.

Dickson Law Office Ltd is committed to treating clients fairly and making its services reasonably accessible. If a client has a disability, communication need or other circumstance requiring an adjustment, we encourage the client to tell us as early as possible so that available arrangements can be discussed.

Appointments may be offered in person, by telephone or by video, depending on the nature of the matter, the client's needs and availability.

We are committed to clear and transparent charging. The applicable professional fee, payment terms and exclusions will be confirmed in writing before substantive work begins. Home Office fees, the Immigration Health Surcharge, biometric charges, counsel, experts, interpreters, translations and other third-party costs are separate unless expressly included.

Where appropriate and within professional competence, Dickson Law Office Ltd may also provide Nigerian law consultancy and international legal advisory services. These services are separate from the organisation's UK immigration advice and are not regulated by the Immigration Advice Authority. The IAA regulates UK immigration advice and immigration services provided within the organisation's authorisation.
